The Kansas City Chiefs have a host of needs, and while an elite wide receiver is on the list, it may not be high enough to guarantee the team lands one in the coming months.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kansas City holds two first-round picks (Nos. 9 and 29), but has other holes to address at edge-rusher, right tackle and cornerback. If the Chiefs don’t end up selecting a top-end WR who can step in and contribute immediately as a rookie, the team will be among the most likely to pursue veteran options on value deals.

Beckham Jr. didn’t play at all in 2025, during which the NFL handed him a six-game suspension for violating its performance-enhancing drug policy.

 

However, he impressed during Tom Brady’s recent Fanatics Flag Football Classic. Jordan Schultz reported that Beckham is looking to join a team and play in the league in 2026, after which John Breech of CBS Sports dubbed the Chiefs a top fit for Beckham.

The Chiefs already have Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy and Tyquan Thornton, but all three of those guys come with some major question marks.

 

Thornton only caught 19 passes last season and Worthy had a frustrating year with just 42 catches. As for Rice, he was accused of domestic violence in a lawsuit that was filed in February, and there’s certainly a chance that could lead to some sort of punishment from the NFL.
