The boys immediately pressed themselves against Grace’s legs.
Victoria snapped her fingers in irritation. “Right now.” When the children didn’t move, she grabbed Oliver’s arm sharply. The boy cried out in pain.
Grace immediately stepped forward.
“Please don’t pull him… you’ll hurt him.” Victoria had already raised her hand. And at that moment, Jonathan emerged from behind the tree. “Victoria,” he said calmly. “What’s going on here?”
The anger instantly disappeared from her face, replaced by a strained smile.
— Darling! I was just making a comment to Grace. She’s acting irresponsibly.
Grace stood pale, hugging Oliver tightly. Jonathan held back his anger. “Grace, take the boys into the house. Then come to my office.” Victoria only smiled contentedly, certain the housekeeper was about to be fired. But in the office, things were different.
Grace was the first to speak, immediately apologizing:
“I’ve never ignored them. They’re very important to me.”
Jonathan looked at her carefully.
— Why do you always take the blame on yourself?
She was silent for a moment.
“If they fire me… who will protect them? Miss Victoria doesn’t even know Ethan is afraid of the dark. And Oliver can’t sleep without music.”
– Who are they afraid of?
Her voice became quiet.
– Her.
Grace told everything – about the punishments, isolation and threats.
Jonathan’s fists clenched.
That night, he pretended to leave. CCTV cameras captured the truth: Victoria’s cruelty, her encounter with her lover Ryan, and the order to lock up the children.
Grace stood in front of the door, protecting the boys.
Jonathan returned before the situation became dangerous.
The police arrived soon after.
The truth came out. The evidence spoke for itself.
The next day, journalists gathered at the house. Jonathan released the security footage.
Victoria was taken away in handcuffs.
Later he saw Grace, quietly praying next to the boys.
“Don’t get up,” he said softly.
He didn’t fire her.

On the contrary, he helped her pay off her debts, ensured a stable future, and offered to become the children’s official guardian.
“I will agree,” she answered calmly, “if you learn to be a real father.”
Jonathan laughed for the first time in years.
Six months later, the house was filled with life: toys on the floor, children’s drawings on the walls, and constant laughter.
One day Jonathan returned home early again.
But this time he didn’t hide.
He walked up to Grace, knelt down on the grass, and confessed that she had become more than just a salvation for him—she was the foundation of their new family.
And she said yes.
From that moment on, the mansion finally became a real home.
